Different Scripts Running Independentelly From Each Other

Hello,

Is there a way to make one php start the execution of the functions in another php without the use of “include” or “require”? My situation is that I have a script that takes about 5-10 seconds to run. It is executed when the visitor loads certain pages on the site. However, with “require” or “include,” the visitor has a 5-10 second delay when visiting those pages. So, if the php would just trigger the execution of that script but go along with “its own business” and not worry about the long script anymore, my problem would probably be solved. Is this possible? Thanks.
