Apache directive and accessibility of scripts

In order to accomplish a very simple task of displaying an “Error 403: Forbidden” page, I employed the Apache directive

Order Deny,Allow
Deny from all

on one of my site directories. That particular directory happens to have all of the important files (login.php, logout.php, connection.php, etc), which is exactly the reason I am restricting access to it.

Well!!! The apache directive works so great that not only do I get the 403 page, but also all the important files have become INACCESSIBLE for all other pages of my website! ? For example, now I can’t login at all, because the login form doesn’t work because the login script is inaccessible….

Would anybody help me out by advising me what do?

Thanks
