msaccess 2 php

dear developers,

i have an issue that bother me for 2 days.
im working at the service company, repairing and maintenance used cars.

u c, there’re gate officers( in and out ), finance mgt, accounting and public relation/customer service officers. but since the pr/cso had left, the boss want to replace him with a website.

so everytime the gate officers input data ( they’re using ms access ), the finance and the accounting will have the report. Then The boss wants the website to be dynamic. He wants it to be able to provide data to the customers about what repairing we have done to their cars.

For example,
we have 300 customers. All of them who has register will be given username and password. so they only need to go to the website.

we already have a static web on an apache hosting. so the suitable must be mysql for database.
1. how can it be done? how to colaborate ms access and mysql?
2. is there a script available to update automaticly from gate to the website?

thx and regards

@ray326Apr 03.2008 — 2. how to move access to mySQL using automatic script[/QUOTE]Nope. It would be a one time manual export/massage/import then a change to the Access application to use the MySQL database directly from that point on.

@rendraauthorApr 04.2008 — so the only option is to replace the php to asp side?

@ray326Apr 05.2008 — You said it was an Access application, not ASP. Which is it?

@rendraauthorApr 07.2008 — yup .. it's an ms access application

as i said earlier, the boss wants the access database to be able on the web as well. But the web was writen in PHP. as it gone be though and quite annoying unefficient like scragar said (although it's still possible) ... in order to develope an easy coding and programing ... i'm rethinking to mode the php base to asp web base ...

how do you thing??

@ray326Apr 07.2008 — If you're going to move to ASP then I'd move the whole thing to SQL Server.
