So, my client owns an elegant, small local business, but wants to start attacking the e-commerce world. They want a website that has one or more gallery sections. They frequently have new jewelry that they would like to be able to update themselves, as well as captions/prices. Most of the rest of the site doesn’t need to be CMS based.
So what do I do? I am thoroughly based in HTML and CSS, but not PHP or Javascript. I can somewhat struggle through them, but I haven’t learned them yet. Do I employ the use of a CMS system and train them how to use it? It seems that most CMS systems are geared toward large businesses with a ton of content, so all the templates I’ve seen are too corporate for my tastes. Is there another way I can do this? It would be neat to use and modify WordPress to do the job, but I get caught up and confused during the modification process.
I just want to get an understanding of my options, and what the best method would be. Suggestions?
Thanks!
