I wonder if anyone can help ?
We have a CRM database which has the ability to send SMTP mail. We can select x records from the database, and mailshot them all.
The mail functionality allows us to send anything – I can create and paste in multipart mime, and it works just fine. Basically, its the SMTP body field – so as long as I paste in true mime it works great.
Trouble is, its a bit manual.
My Marketing dept. tell me they want to do a mailshot, and give me the Word document. I convert that to HTML (not using the MS Word Save As HTML thank you very much :rolleyes: !), and then add the multipart headers and seperators and include the plain text version. For images, I host them on our webserver and include them in the HTML as an <img tag.
So, you can see, its a bit of a pain (for me mainly !)
What I need is a multipart mime creation tool – or more precisly, export / convert from MS Word to multipart mime.
What I want to do is give it the source Word document, and get a nice multipart mime file out of it – including the plain text, the HTML version, and the embedded images, all nicely encoded within the one file. All I want is the file – I don’t want it to have any mail sending capability (or if it does, I want the option to not use it)
We can then open the file in good old Notepad, and copy and paste into the email component of our CRM.
Anyone know of such a tool ?
