Pictures on Search Engines

Hi all

I have some trouble getting my Images displayed on Search Engines.

I have some galleries and several articles with a lot of photographs, but none can be found on google, yahoo or other search engines. I don’t think i am penalised, as my site appears high for several keyword queries. And i was using alt tag for all images.

here an example of an article

and a gallery

What more could be done to make the search engines display my pictures?

Any help is much appreciated.

Cheers
Erik

@KDLAMar 25.2008 — It helps if you have file names that contain keywords. Also, include your images folder in your robots.txt file to index.

Which Search Engine are you trying to search Your Images on.If its Google then things are a bit different here.Go to the main page and click the image search option. Then type in the phrase whose image you would want to search and check the results. The image results in Google are analogous to the web-results.Images are in the form of codes that the spiders crawl over .If the page where you image is placed isn't crawled by Google then it wouldn't appear in the image search. One way it is similar to the SERP'S in the web-related search results.

@bluefirefoxMar 27.2008 — Alt attributes really helps.. be sure to put some long tail keywords on your alt-attributes...

By the way this long tail helps your images description in SEs...
