ok so i want to make a string of text have something like an outline but not like a border. how could i give text an outline with a color and a color inside the outline in another color?

@ray326Mar 22.2008 — #There are font editor available. I've never needed one myself so I'll just recommend you use your favorite search engine to find some.
@digitaldervishMar 22.2008 — #If you have Adobe illustrator you can convert text into outlines, that allows you to manipulate the shape of the text using bezier curves. You could use this to create the effect you are looking for. But it would be a very tedious, time consuming and artistic process. This isn't the same as creating your own font. I'm not sure if it's still around, but back in the day, Fontographer was the program eveyrone used to create their own fonts. Still just as tedious a process as I understand it. You have to deal with font metrics, things like kerning and tracking, ligatures, etc.
You are probably better off finding or settling for a font that is close to what you are looking for and creating graphics from that.
