Absolute positioning slightly off

I am only using absolute positioning in a few places where it is necessary. But there is not alot of room for moving around where I am using it, and it seems that the position changes just slightly (maybe a few px) in different browsers. Is this normal? Is there any way to fix this?

* {padding:0; margin:0;}

make this your FIRST line in your CSS. I always use this, for every page that I build. It removes the default padding & margins, from every element that can appear on a page.

You are picking-up default (IE) padding & margins.
