Constant loading problems

I am developing a virtual app for my job and have run into an issue which has me completely lost. This has happened in the past and I’m not sure what I did previously to resolve the issue.

I don’t know which part of the code to post since it happens in several places. Basicly I will go to the page. Click on something and then the progress bar will begin to move very very slowly.

My question is, is there anyway to detect what it is thats loading/waiting to be loaded? If I could detect this I’m sure I could resolve the issue.

A little more info about my setup.

The site is written in Basic DHTML with XML/XSL and behaviors running everything on the backend. Its all graphics, I use the XML to hold information about the areamaps for each img to determine when something is clicked, which xml file it will pull associated with the img you are trying to get to. in otherwords, if you click on the ‘My Computer’ icon on the desktop it will call the mycomputer.xml file which then builds a new div container holding the img and the imgmap to go with it.

This issue happens with this setup (although not as frequently as with my app builder tool)

On my app Builder tool, its a little different. I have an html page with an img and a div. When you hold shift+click and then drag it creates a new div which acts as the area for the img map. Right now the only thing it does is draw the rectangle. the functions are as follows:

onmousedown: makerectangle
onmousemove: drawrectangle

I think its getting hung up on either the onmousedown or onmousemove.

If your not totaly confused at this point your doing better then me (i’ve been up for 2 days working on this so i may be a bit out of it)

Basicly I think I’m just looking for a way to place a button on the page, when i click it i just need it to alert what object/file/event is being loaded. Or whatever is causing the progress bar to continue this slow load.

heres a link to the page in question.

To draw an area, hold shift and the left mouse button down while dragging the mouse over the area you want to place the area. If you need to move the area, click and hold while moving the mouse (no shift key) it will move the area. To change the properties of the area, doubleclick it and then adjust the top, left, height, width of the area, commit your changes by clicking the update area button below the properties.

If anyone can give me advice on this I would greatly appreciate it.
