need help!

I have a website i am building and i would like to use some javascript to make it easier for myself.

first of all i have my navigation bar, and it consists of 6 images, one for each page. i want each page to have a name set in javascript and each image set in javascript so that when “home” page is loaded, it loads “home” image. if you could help me with that i would really appreciate it.

also i would like to make a spash page and have the background on the next page be preloaded on the splash page. if u could help with that too i would appreciate it.
