Turn On/Off Site Maintenance Page

Hi,

On my site currently to bring up my website maintenance page. I have to go in to the FTP server and edit the PHP script to turn it.

The script is :

<?php

$page = ‘down’;//Type “down”for maintenance page

if ($page == ‘down’) {

header (‘location: site-down.html’);
exit;

}

?>

But I have an administrator panel and I would like to include an option on it on and off from there.

Is it possible to be able to directly edit the script from the admin panel? Or is there any other methods?

Any response appreciated!

Ollie

@robertketterFeb 14.2008 — A quick little login screen would do the trick. I would use php's session() function, set a user name and password and your up and running.
