A question about cross broswer testing

Lo all

what do you guys use to test multiple versions of browsers when building your pages?

I have my new laptop here using IE7 and FF2 and was building away, happened to log on with my old laptop and check the site with IE6 and noticed some screwed values which never showed up on my new laptop due to the newer browsers.

Is the only way to test IE compatibility with Virtual machines running older browsers?

So how can i test from ie 5 upwards?

@scragarFeb 13.2008 — there's a program called multiple IE's somewhere(unsure, since I don't run window, IEs4linux provides IEs 5, 5.5, 6 and 7 for testing).

this will let you install legacy versions of IE. You may also wish to install firefox 1.5 along side 2(dont' cause any problems for me), and add opera and safari(maybe even konqueror if your ambitious) to the list of browsers you test.
