There’s probably a simple answer…

…but I can’t seem to figure it out ? . I have a fairly basic HTML webpage here on my PC that I did on a previous PC and transferred over. It has a “main” page with several “sub” pages linked to it (and to each other) and the whole package works just fine. I can also edit the source of any of these existing pages and re-save and everything still works OK. This is how I created the thing in the first place, modifying the source and “save as…” as a new file.

But recently, I’ve tried to create a new “sub” page by using the existing source code from one of the working pages, modifying it, and using the “save as…” option to save it as a new file name in the right directory, which it does. Now, when I click on the hyperlink to this new page from the “main” (or any other) page it doesn’t bring up the new page I created.

I can access the new page from the directory in Windows Explorer and can navigate from it to the other pages by clicking on the links from the new page so, it does exist and works fine. I have checked & re-checked for typo’s ect… and there doesn’t seem to be a problem.

The only other thing I have noticed is, when I open the new page I get a message across the top of the page saying that “IE is preventing the page from running scripts or ActiveX controls”, I don’t get this message on the existing pages that all work ok.

Please tell me it’s something simple I’ve overlooked

@ryanbutlerJan 27.2008 — Either the page contains JavaScript code or IE 7 is just being screwy, either of which is highly possible. Post a sample address if you can or source code.

@ozpl8sauthorJan 29.2008 — Darn stupid thing works fine when uploaded to the 'net and viewed with IE  .

I loaded it on a friends PC which uses Firefox as the browser and it worked fine there too (on the PC only) ? . Now I have put it up on my ISP's personal web space and it works as it should with both IE and Firefox, just won't work properly on my PC in IE.

Anyway, I guess I'll work around it or get Firefox myself.

Here's a link to it :- http://home.iprimus.com.au/ozpl8s/HWs_trades/Main.html The problem page on my PC is "2008"
