Installation error, help will be much appreciated

Hi all,

I have a problem in installing a PHP website on my local host (using wamp) even though I am following the installation instructions.

The config file defines the server as

$dbServer = “localhost”;

Then it says I should change the directory permissions as follow:
“banners” directory -> chmod 777
“pics” directory -> chmod 777
“control/backup” directory -> chmod 777 .
As I am using windows I do right click on the folder then

 sharing and security => share this folder (ticked) => maximum allowed (ticked) => permissions => everyone (full control, read and change all ticked)

The next step I should run the install.php file on the browser and when I do so I get an empty page with no confirmation, and when I go to the site folder through the local host using the browser I get the following error

Can you please advice on what might have gone wrong in what I am doing; your help is much appreciated.
