client side vs server side javascript.

Hi, good day,
I am facing problem dealing with client side javascript and server side javascript.
I need to get a list of date from database, and when client select a range of date, the total number of day will then minus of by 1 if the date exist in the database.
Please help. Thanks in advanced.

Do you have any current code you are working with?

Once I can confirm which programming language/script you are using I will move this thread to the applicable forum.

Actually what I need is to exclude the public holiday that was in the database when client selected a range of date by using javascript, for eg: 1st Jan 2008 is a PH, and client select 31st Dec 2007 till 2nd Jan 2008, system will show to the client 2 days instead of 3 days.
