User input a date using buttons

Hi,

I have a number of buttons on screen 0 – 9. I want a user to be able to enter a date by pressing the correct number buttons to make up the date. However I want the system so that the user can only enter a date in the correct format. Using “/” as the seperater and so that they can only enter valid days, months and years.

Can anyone tell me if this is possible and how to go about it?
