help with search bar

I have created a search bar which allowes users to search for particular products but it does not work if the user types in upper case. For example if the user wants to search for Nike but they type in nike, the search will not work. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this problem?????????

@sekuchiJan 09.2008 — #in the query, try this:

$query="SELECT * from tablename where shoes LIKE '%$shoe%' ";

The shoes is the fieldname in your database.

The $shoe is the variable name.

% represent wildcard, so whether is an Uppercase or lowercase it doesn't matter as long it is match to the database.

Note: Don't forget the LIKE method or it will not execute properly...
