[RESOLVED] what is smarty

Hi all,

I have questions in mind about smarty.

Can you plz tell me what the smarty does regarding design and what relation it has with PHP.

Is it class based structure?I need to know the basic knowledge of smarty.

If you have any good web based tutorials with beginner’s example given then can you plz send me the link.

@felgallDec 17.2007 — smarty separates out the page templates from the PHP code so that the processing and the page layout are separated. It makes changing the page content without changing the processing or changing the processing without changing the page content much easier because they are in separate files. The bigger the project the more necessary it becomes to separate out the various layers of your site's construction. It is like placing yout HTML, stylesheet, and JavaScript in separate files for the client side layers of the project.
