random from mysql for each day

Hi all!

What is the best and easiest way to get a random row from mysql but the same one for each day. Like, if I had a MySQL table with 120 quotes and I wanted to display one quote per day so that the same quote could be displayed the entire day and then a new one the day after.

How can I do this?

@felgallDec 13.2007 — #Set up a CRON job to run at the start of the day that selects a random number and use that throughout the day to determine which row to retrieve.

If you don't have access to set up a CRON job then you could store the current date along with the random number and regenerate the number when the current and stored dates are not equal.
