Not able to view absolute URL in the URL bar in IE6

Hey everyone..
I seem to be facing this problem in IE6 where i’m not able to see the absolute URL of the page(a page, other than the index.html page) that i navigate to, in the IE6 URL bar, instead it just shows the base URL there.
This is causing a problem ’cause whenever i try to refresh the page using the F5 key it refreshes the page with the base URL(index.html) and redirects it back to that page.
This doesn’t seem to be the case with Firefox though.

Could someone help me out with this please?

Also, it might be good to specifiy "absolute path" to URL, instead of "absolute URL", to avoid any confusion over meaning. ? For a few seconds I didn't understand what you were saying.

True i actually put it across in a very wrong manner

Let me put it this way...i can't seem to see the Query parameters that i send to the Cgi script as a part of the URL

eg: www.example.com/myCgi.cgi?number=3&passenger=adult ; in this case 'number' and 'passenger' being the query parameters.

what i'm able to see in IE6 is "www.example.com" in the URL bar, even though the page rendered to me is the one containing the form which obtains 'number' and 'passenger' from the user. As a result when i refresh the page with the F5 button it redirects me to show my index.html(www.example.com) page, while what it should actually be showing to me is the same page with the form fields reset (i make sure the page is fetched again from the server and not from the cache).

This doesn't seem to be the case with firefox.

Is there some setting in IE that you know of that displays the complete URL ??
