retrieve image file from website

I can load an image from google maps as a backgroundimage, for example like this

<td style=”background-image: url(http://kh.google.com/kh?v=3&amp;t=tqsrrs);” height=”256″ width=”256″></td>

Any idea how to retrieve the image from this google map link ([url]http://kh.google.com/kh?v=3&amp;t=tqsrrs)?[/url] cause i’d like to save them to my harddisk and reuse them in an standlone application. (want to automate the process, so not using the browsers ‘save picture as’ function.).

I know there are free programs that offer this possibility, but that will not work for me. thx
