How can I have one website forward to another?

I have two domain names – [url]www.wyoroast.com[/url] & [url]www.wyomingcoffeeroasters.com[/url]. I have a website build for [url]www.wyoroast.com[/url].

If someone were to type in [url]www.wyomingcoffeeroasters.com[/url] I would like for it to forward to [url]www.wyoroast.com[/url].

As you have probably already noticed, I’m not well versed in the terms for websites. Can anyone tell me how to do this?

@ryanbutlerNov 25.2007 — If you're on Linux, look into mod_rewrite. I'm sure Windows has a way to do it, but I'm not as familiar how Windows does it, maybe a re-direct through IIS.

@aj_nscNov 25.2007 — you can do this through whoever you have registered your domain with. it's something called domain forwarding. alternatively, i believe you can just enter the nameserver information for http://www.wyoroast.com/ for your other domain and it will all point to the same server.

if all this sounds too complex, then start somewhere simple, did you register these domain names and if so, through what service? (e.g. mydomain.com godaddy.com, etc)

@Major_PayneNov 26.2007 — If you have use of a Control Panel (and you should on any hosting service worth its name) for the site, the easiest way is to use its 301 Redirect tool. Nothing could be simpler.

I'd probably do a 301 too. That said, could you not just point the DNS from one site to the other? I have a feeling that would be a no no - but I wonder.
