internet exploder weird problem

I have a website http://dforces.net/help/race2.php where the image should be centered between the tables.
————————————————-

| |
|———————————————–|
| | | |
| | | |
| | | |

| | | |
————————————————-
When a link is clicked the image changes and the <h4> in the center changes the innerHTML value. The center’s html code is:
<td halign=”middle” valign=”middle” style=”text-align:center;width:600px;height:300px;border:2px solid gray;”>
<h4 id=”racetitle”></h4>
<img id=”raceimg” style=”height:100%;margin:0;padding:0;”>
</td>
The javascript is http://dforces.net/help/race2.js

The Problem
Internet Explorer 7 screws up the width of the center somehow if you click half the links on the left side. Yet, Firefox works perfectly. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?
