Form Help, PLEASE???

I am trying to get a simple, (or at least I think, simple), form to work in Dreamweaver 8, but am having a lot of trouble.

It is a feedback form. When the user clicks “Submit”, the following things should happen in this order:

1) Form fields are validated and a “check box” must be checked in order to allow the “Submit” to proceed
2) Once form is validated, the form data should be submitted to an e-mail address.
3) On submission, a pop up window will open with a “Thank you” message.
4) On submission, the user will be taken back to the “Home” page.

Right now, when I test the form, form fields are validated, and an error message appears if the fields aren’t completed correctly, BUT… Whether or not the fields are corrected, as soon as you click on “OK” to acknowledge the error, the next form behaviors kick-in and items 3 and 4 from above automatically proceed. On top of this, the form data is not being submitted to the designated E-Mail address, so even though the form might be filled out correctly, step 2 from above isn’t happening.

I have tried online tutorials that describe PHP or Javascript solutions, but I can’t understand them, as I’m not able to read or understand code at this point. Is there a simple way, within DW8 to achieve this, or can I talk someone into writing a few lines of code for me to help get this going?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

@KDLANov 19.2007 — It would be best if you provided your existing code for us to diagnose the problem.

I guess I'm looking more for suggestions on how to program via Dreamweaver design mode, rather than a diagnosis of the current code, or any suggestions that include writing code. Is there a simple script that I can copy and paste and maybe change a few names or descriptions, or are there tools within the design mode of Dreamweaver that I'm missing?

@toicontienNov 19.2007 — You can't program via the design mode. You need to pop open the hood and view the code. This requires a custom solution that point and click editors don't provide.

@gomisuteNov 20.2007 — get passed the dreamweaver 'design-mode' and switch to programmer/editor mode...it is not as scary as you think...it will make you a better designer...you will turn into a designer/developer!
