Open window in current window

Greetings. This is probably simple, but I can’t find the info, so I’m asking you all. When the user clicks on a picture, I want a half-screen or so of graphics and text to come up within the window (that is, without jumping to a separate page). I’d like to stick to HTML, as I have no experience with Java and don’t want my users to have to have it available.

All suggestions gratefully received.

@FangNov 16.2007 — Either frames or a form which loads the required data server side.

@trymbillNov 16.2007 — I think you are looking for something like a "Thickbox" or a "Gadget" ...

... you'll have to use Javascript for this, as far as I know, since HTML doesn't know how to display and iFrame from a click ...

Thickbox is easy to use though and really nice.

@TheRaveNov 21.2007 — You could achieve this with AJAX.

I suggest you don't go dabbling in AJAX until you are confident with html and javascript though.
