I’ve recently been trying to make a HTML Newsletter. I’m using Dreamweaver and I know a little HTML. A couple of issues I’m having:
1. If I use a background image or even a background colour, it does not display? I’ve tried copying the source from a Newsletter I received (which had a background image) and inserting it into dreamweaver. From there I saved the page as a html document and then emailed from Outlook. Most of the newsletter came through but the background image didn’t?
I’ve tried creating a new html document which has a grey background and then emailing that from Outlook but again the received email showed up a plain white background.
2. When emailing I find that some of my images are not displaying correctly at the receiving end. ie. They don’t show up at all and I have an icon which says “Click here to download picture”.
Why do I not get the above problem when I receive some email newsletters from others?
Does the fact that I’m using Outlook to send my newsletter have an effect on the end result? I guess that some of the big companies who are doing the mass mailing will use a different email client however why would this affect the end result?
