Web Site slow on some connections

Hello there? . I have recently created an e-commerce web site called www.apparel-magic.com. What I did was put up oscommerce(which is in PHP) core system and downloaded a template from templatemonster.com and added about 12 contributions to the web site.
This site is on a dedicated server.

Just after I was going to test the site it is terribly slow on some connections. But amazingly fast on other connections. Note that bandwidth of the connections are the same and they come from the same ISP. Also the funny thing is that inside my small home network on one machine it comes up fast and on the other it does not. This is totally frustrating. 😑

I have the exact same system uploaded at http://cart.mclanka.com/osc/
but on a different server (shared). It works fine on every machine and in every connection.
But the original site is on a dedicated server and it still does not come up.

I have this discussed with the server people and they said there is no bottleneck.

Do anyone have an idea what causes this.
If you know at least a hint I am desperate to know about this.

If you experience the same thing please let me know. PLEASE HELP

@bokehNov 04.2007 β€”Β It's a rendering problem (which affects IE in particular) and it's not surprising really considering that you have 46 tables nested up to 5 deep all with embeded css in the various table elements. Using tables for layout went out of vogue in about 1995 for just this reason. These days people only use them for their intended purpose, tabular data.

@sanelvauthorNov 05.2007 β€”Β Will, what I have put here is the OScommerce system which is used by thousands of online stores in the net. The core is not affected in any means on my site. So, in case of table issues I don't think its making much of a difference. Coz I have the same exact thing at cart.mclanka.com/osc and it does not giving any errors on any browser.

I have got this reply from anther poster. Please tell me what do you fee about this!!!!!!!!

@bokehNov 05.2007 β€”Β You only need to switch between FF and IE to see it is a rendering problem.

I have tried every thing you said before. It is still the same. I have both browsers installed on both machines. On one machine it comes up in both the browsers fine. On the other neither works.

Can you explain that please???

@bokehNov 05.2007 β€”Β Your site obviously has more than one problem. I am diagnosing the one that affects me, namely that IE renders this page much more slowly than FF due to the site's ill-advised use of tables for layout purposes.

Success!
