Here’s just a simple script for compressing files. It was made on Windows, which is why no attempt to CHMOD a file is made, but it works. So, in order for it to compress the file, or restore it (If you add the restoration stub), the file must be able to be written to. (Hmmm… I should have just done if(is_writeable($file)))
If you add the restoration stub, you can restore your file by calling it as file.php?restore That will restore it with lines ending with only CR. If you want Windows-style line endings, call it with file.php?restore&type=windows
And finally, the script:
