Anybody ever use this: http://koivi.com/ie-png-transparency/
I am trying it for my website but I am still seeing placeholders around the PNGs….even though they are transparent, you still see the weird looking image placeholders…..anybody come across this?
@bokehOct 12.2007 — #Why should you care how something looks in IE5/6? Anyone with windows updates has got IE7 by now and if they haven't the chances are they couldn't care less about their browsing experience.
@bokehOct 12.2007 — #Bokeh - You'd be amazed how many people still use IE 6. (ugh...)
My personal view is "who cares". If people want to use that it's up to them but why use a substandard image format (or add weight to your site) just for those people.
If you want to be able to change the background colour of your site without having to re-creating all the images use PNG. If the people that use IE6 are more important to you than the anti-aliasing problems and mono-transparency of GIF, use GIF.
