in IE, clicking email picture from context menu logs me out

Hi,
If I enter a website like this one using IE after logging in and access a page that contains an image and then click email picture from context menu then my session ends and I am logged out as proven by the appearance of login screen when accessing the same image. this happens for every website that I tried(for instance yahoo, gmail etc.). So seemingly this is a browser issue.

What is the reason? What is going on behind? Does IE closes the current http connection before attempting to email? How to overcome this? Is there any solution using javascript such as disabling the “email picture” option in the context menu? I need to do this for my web app server.

@mrhooSep 26.2007 — It is a per user security setting- allowing the attachment of an image file (or any file) from the server to the user's mail program can be set to deny, prompt or allow.

You can't count on it, or even, as far as I know, detect it.

Even if security settings should be changed, still it is not clear what is going on behind. Whether the browser is designed to first disrupt the connection to the web server, set up a different connection to email it and then reestablish the connection to the server or not. Besides is there a authoritative source to verify this? Because I have to prove to my boss that this is purely a browser issue and there is nothing to do from the application's side (javascript). Moreover, can ajax help here?
