mask the input SSN as click on submit

Hi,

this is manish. i m new to this forum. this is my first post and any help would be highly appreciated.

my problem:

there is a screen on which user has to enter SSN no. This field is auto tabbed. the entry is like thie SSN:123-45-6789. for each pair (other then hypen) a text box is provided. text box entries are taken as prdcrSSN1(3 digit), prdcrSSN2(2 digit),prdcrSSN3(4 digit).

when user enters the value it appears to him. but as soon as user clicks on submit button all digits should be replaced by # (except last four i.e, prdcrSSN3). and # is visible to user.

i need a javascript for this.
