Need help on simple project (for SIMPLE guy!)

I need an array of numbered boxes (large buttons) with columns being rooms, and rows being people. I want this to auto-refresh all browsers so everyone sees the same page. This is sort of like the old nurse or building super’s call box, with light behind numbers. Ideally, there would be names of, lets say 4 people to the left, then 4 rows of 9 boxes, numbered 1 to 9, which,when clicked would blink, and maybe play a small bell sound (purpose is to summon the person to a room). This blink could then be toggled off by clicking on the box again. I am shocked that I can’t make this work in an efficient manner (I’m blaming age). But I bet you can!

@JMRKERSep 17.2007 — The display would be fairly simple to design in HTML or JS but you would need to

use a database or some server language to keep the storage and access of the

button events current and updated. Cookies will not work except on the one computer being used so therefore not all computers and all browsers.

@Nickster777authorSep 17.2007 — Thanks. I thought that JS, being client-side, might not be the complete solution to this. I will see if I can find some muti-player game example to enlighten me on the sync portion.
