Generating HTML Files

I’m still fairly new to HTML, and I’m wondering have I can do this.

I have one page which has a form, and one of the text fields is called name. I want to transfer that data into a new HTML file, called (name).html. I already have <!– name –> tags in a separate template file, and I’m wondering if I can just tell it to replace those tags with what was in the original text fields, then create a whole new .html page.

Would this be possible? And how could I do it?

Do you know what one would be best then?

@ray326Sep 17.2007 — It depends on what's available on your specific host. ASP is usually available on IIS/Windows servers. PHP and CGI/Perl are usually there for Apache/Linux servers. JSP is there if you're running a Java server like Tomcat.
