How to start????

Hi there

I don’t know the first thing about how to develop a search engine. I’m a Sr. UI Developer but I’m no really good with back-end(I started to learn Java… also i would like to create my engine with Java as a program) and I would lik to know what programs I need to know and if someone could let me know about any link or site that would explain how to creata my Search Engines (for be more clear something like google lol).

I will really appreciate it any help.

I'm not really sure if I should stay with my standard reply or not. But you did add an extra twist to your question. here is a good place to start if your looking at finding out "How they Work"
