If you know alittle javascript (or can follow the well-written text instructions), then dynamicdrive.com probably has a javascript slideshow that you would like. Well-documented, fairly easy to install, free for personal & commerical use. And if you get started with one of their scripts and become stuck, post back here and show what you have, -someone will eagerly assist you.

I image you will have thumbnails in pace of the current text and you want a larger image to show either in a pop up window or in place where the current center image is? If so, these scripts are available at dynamicdrive.com already.

However, to get anything like this to work, you need to learn a little more about valid coding - such as use of a doctype and encoding declarations, how to structure head and body elements, how to write semantic markup, and how to position without using absolute positioning....
