nothing is impossible right?
Just try touching your right elbow with your right hand's thumb. People are always asking how to hide the source but nobody has ever asked how to read some "hidden" source. They all figure it out for themselves rather quickly.
Do you have any idea how bad that is, from an accesibility viewpoint? Forcing your users to use one browser, use Javascript, and goodness knows what else, and causing yourself all that hassle. Is your source code that good? It won't stop an experienced user, and the restrictions you place on users will only serve to annoy them and make them go elsewhere.
In addition, doing all that on a commercial site could be construed as illegal and US and UK law (the Americans With Disabilites Act and the Disability Discrimination Act respectively).

P.S. Pyro, I think I'll do a "how can I hide my source code" entry for webdevfaqs.com - this comes up often enough.
@Jeff_MottAug 22.2003 — #-=[ kdcgrohl.com ]=-
Speaking of annoyances... first this site tells me to lower my resolution (I guess I'm supposed to conform to the site) and later told I need to maximize my window to view all the contents.
kdcgrohl, you do a good job of designing pages for yourself. However, it is everyone else that is the target audience.

Ok, I'll agree that is abit old and I'll remove it. Originally posted by Jeff Mott
it is everyone else that is the target audience.
My site is free, nothing commercial about it. When somethings free, nomatter how insignificant it is, it's usually "as is". Ok.
And to Pyro, I never said it would be pretty. If you want something on lockdown(or as close as possible w/ whats been given us), you may lose your viewers.

And to Pyro, I never said it would be pretty.
But one should ask themself if trying to protecting any client side code would be worth not only the hassle of adding all that crap to the page, but also the inaccessability that follows. Me thinks not...
I understand what you're saying, but the reason I put that page up is because I have accepted the fact that no matter what, people will always want to do this. I even plainly state that the only proper protection is not to post to the web at all, but do you think that stops people? Originally posted by pyro
Me thinks not...
The reason I come on here and post that page as answer to peoples questions is because I collected all that information in hopes to stop posts like this from becoming so large. Funny huh?
