Stopping PHP Processing

Suppose that I have some PHP code for my web page that takes an excessively long time to process. What happens to that processing if the viewer of the web page closes his browser? Does the PHP code stop processing? What happens to that processing if the user hits the refresh button on his browser? What happens to that processing if the user naviagtes to a different page or a different website?

@intrinzicAug 20.2007 — I am not sure but I would guess it will stop processing as soon as they close the page or navigate to other pages. I am also assuming that the part that was already loaded will be processed, although there was no display yet. I am not so sure about it but why don't you try it for your self. Like a script that will email you on any part of the script, see if you receive an email.
