Need member area help

hi guys

I want to make a community website where members can be registered with user id, password, their other details and photo

I have learned how to use php and mysql.
I have finished register, login and logout forms.

i have a forum page and when clicked on the forum page link it asks first to login and if the member is logged in then only he gets access…

i wanna know how to do it???

please help
