@XTIauthorAug 16.2007 — Thanks for the link but unfortunately code in that page did not work. I am getting error (Fatal error on line 2).

I am using a UNIX server.

This must be a common problem to generate Word or Excel from PHP the way PHP is expanding.

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks XTI

@XTIauthorAug 16.2007 — Error:

Fatal error on line 2

Line 2 is where is referes to the COM thing. My site is on a UNIX server that might be the problem. How can this be done if one is not using Windows Server?

@ellisglAug 16.2007 — I don't think you can use COM stuff on UNIX.. I've never really played with it.

@XTIauthorAug 16.2007 — then what's the solution?

@ellisglAug 16.2007 — Does it have to be word formated or can it just be a plan text document?

You could look up the spefication on the word formated doc file. I know they use some UTF8 stuff, other than that - I don't know much about the structure of the file.
