hasLayout Discrepancy

While building a website for my old school ,modelled on yahoo answers, One such page is giving problems.

The accompanied zip file contains the page.
In Mozilla its rendering perfectly.
But In I.E there are problems with the container not being able to be displayed.

Please help and suggest a solution.

@CentauriAug 16.2007 — Did you try running this page through the W3C validator? .... 393 errors !!

Suggest you go through and fix those up first, and the problem might just go away - if not, one of us might take a look further when we don't have to wade through the errors ..........

@WebJoelAug 16.2007 — I took a quick look at this, -just the first page alone has several hundred small error warnings that should be cleaned before proceeding to 'fix' the problem. That is works for Mozilla and not IE suggests several things, -like an un-cleared float or possibly a severely negative margin and a few more 'weaknesses' that are particular to IE.

That "missing trailing quote-mark", although listed as a "warning", is actually rather critical and should be treated as an 'error'. :o
