im making an online shop and im determined not to spend loads of money on some website guy so im gunna build it myself. The actuall shop itself is easy enough becos its just pictures and destription which i can do. Ive even found a javascript way of doing the shopping basket so im intending to use that, however there are a few things im not sure how to do yet…both of which involve databases i would imagine so i dont know if its possible without getting into complex servers and what i dont have a clue about…

the first thing i want is for customers to be able to rate the products so that they give it a score out of 10 and the average is shown.

the second is i would like to have a list of number of each product in stock and if the stock is zero it wont let them add it to the basket.

If theres a way to do these two things easily i would be much appreciated if someone could tell me how! Otherwise some useful info on how to set about doing this via more complicated means would also be useful.

i would help you but im starting in databases too, so you can use PHP,ASP,vbscript,and maybe javascript to interact with activeX controls to use eather

-mysql(or sql or whatever)
