Cross platform development

Two questions about cross-platform development:

1.I’m developing my web site on a macintosh using OS X, and The latest version of IE I can find for the mac is 5.2. But 60-70% of my website visitors use IE 6 or 7 for windows. How do I test for compatibility issues?

More specifically: I’ve been trying to use implement Suckerfish dropdown menus:

As you would expect, they work fine in FireFox, but not in IE 5.2. How do I find out if the problem I’m having in 5.2 would work in IE 6 or 7 when I only have a macintosh computer to work with?

@Mesmer7authorAug 11.2007 — That's the exact opposite of what I need. I have the IE 5.2; I need to find out if the script works in the newer version.

@WebJoelAug 12.2007 — IE stopped supporting Mac in June 2003, just about the time the Safari browser for Mac was becoming available. I guess if my reply didn't answer your question is it because I do not understand what you asked for. ?

And this for maybe some older IE-for-mac issues:

Might help. And Google. ?

@Mesmer7authorAug 16.2007 — I only have access to a macintosh computer. So how do I find out if my CSS and javascript are working in IE 6 and IE 7?

@ray326Aug 16.2007 — One (expensive?) way would be to run Windows XP on your Mac in a virtual machine.

@Mesmer7authorAug 16.2007 — too expensive for my current status

@KravvitzAug 22.2007 — I should mention that IE5.x/Mac and IE5.x/Win are very different browsers and were developed by different teams. For example, IE5/Mac was the first browser to implement doctype switching but IE/Win didn't implement it until IE6.
