Image not showing

When I view this site on my C: drive the image appears. When I upload it to the web – I cannot get the image to display. I know this is too simple for you but – I cannot see the reason. Please help.
Thanks.

@tracknutAug 11.2007 — It looks like the image simply hasn't been uploaded to the web server. Have you pushed it out there, and is it in the top level directory, the same place as the index.html file?

@Charles_D_authorAug 11.2007 — Dave,

I went back and uploaded the image again - same results - no image.

When I upload the index file and the open the file on my hard drive the source read only:

<?xml version="1.0"?>

<!--TransferQueueItems-->

<Items><Version>1</Version></Items>

Where did my file go and what does this mean?Should I be doing this in xml?

Thanks

@tracknutAug 11.2007 — Boy, I'm at a loss as to what that means, Charles. XML should have nothing to do with this excersize. Are you using an FTP application that you've used successfully before? What is it, maybe someone will have experience with it.

@Charles_D_authorAug 11.2007 — This is a new site I am working on and the logo did work until I changed it with another logo.

The FTP is SmartFTP.

Maybe I should try the old logo - there maybe something wrong with the jpg. I guess what really puzzled me was the fact that it display correct on the hard drive but not live.

Thanks

@Charles_D_authorAug 11.2007 — Dave / Ray,

I have reloaded the image a couple of times and it will work with the png but not a jpg.

The logo that is displayed now is the wrong logo - it has been revised - to take out the jagged edges.

Please take another look: www.clayartistsofthesoutheast.com

Thanks

@Charles_D_authorAug 11.2007 — This is the one that i wanted.

I went back and converted the jpg to png and it works - although I am still puzzled why the jpg did not work.

Thanks for putting me on track.

@kiwibritAug 11.2007 — Hmm. Your page does not validate - in particular, your failure to specify character encoding may have a bearing on the problem. And if you are using xml, shouldn't you code be in xhtml, using text/html MIME type? Outside my experience, I must admit. BTW, it is usual to specify the image width and height.

@Charles_D_authorAug 13.2007 — Kiwibrit,

Thanks - I am new to web coding. I will look into your suggestions, which may take me awhile to figure out. And i am using HTML 4. Regards, Charles
