Help Please, emergency!

I need help with the htaccess thing, I really need to block someone who keeps stealing my ideas and hard work. All the other sites and things I’ve read made no sense. I’m a beginner btw.

I use freewebs… please

1.tell me how I should name the file…
2. What exactly to write in it (Everything)
3.is that all I need to do?

please help, I truly thank anybody willing to help.

@Tweak4Aug 07.2007 — It should be pointed out (yet again), that anything you put on the internet is fair game. There is very little you can do to stop people from stealing things from your website, so if you don't want your hard work stolen, don't post it.

.htaccess is [I]a[/I] solution, but it is by no means foolproof. It will slow down anyone without the password (note: "anyone", rather than "just your thief"), and it can be broken through a brute-force/dictionary attack by anyone with a cracking program and enough time...

True, the answer is: if they REALLY want it, they will get it. Doing things in flash and other methods of making it more difficult will just reduce the number of people who will take the time to get your work.
