File Transfer Without The Wait

I response to a suggestion to raise the max_execution, I really would like the server to do the transfer by itself…So here’s my situation, there are files on xyz.com’s server and I want them on my mnop.com server. I would like to make this file transfer available to other users without them having to wait on a loading page until the file is download onto the server itself, I would like it to be something where they enter the link to the file, and then they are moved to a confirmation page (which i can create), and they will be notified when the download is done.

So if anyone has any ideas for server to server transfer without having to stare at a blank page, PLEASE LET ME KNOWW!!!

@chickenlandJul 20.2007 — You could set up a database table that all requests go into.

Then, at set intervals, run a cron job that does the transfer, and mails the user to confirm the upload.
