large data retrieval problem

i need to retrieve about 7500 rows from a table in one operation. But from a script i can’t do this, but can do straight away with mysql console. when the script in operation it suddenly stops its operation, won’t give any error messages. i don’t know the what is the problem. i’m using mysql 3.23.58 as php 4 in Apache. Please help.
