Aligning text & images vertically within DIV

First, see:

I need to align the following text vertically with their images beside them within their DIV tag (in red):

[ Group Reply ] [ Private Reply ] [ Forward ] [ Add New Content ] [b][color=red]img – Akesh[/color][/b]

and [b][color=red]img. Recieve Updates[/color][/b] | [b][color=red]img. Skype Chat[/color][/b] | [b][color=red]img. Y![/color][/b] | [b][color=red]img. I’m Away[/color][/b]

vertical-align: middle; is not working…I’ve tried to do a lot of research on this and I don’t know what the best alternative is.

Something about dl'ing the files off of my company's server to my computer at home and then uploading it to my server...it brought the htaccess pw over as well. Something funky was going on for sure.
