This is a site I am rebuilding, got it pretty much worked out in a compliant browser to start with (FF 2.0.0.3), now trying to get it adjusted to work with IE6 and IE7.
The problem I am currently trying to work out is the product price table.
When the page first loads, the columns are lined up correctly, but when you go to another page on the site and come back, the columns are shifted to the left.
Then hit the refresh button and the columns go back to their proper position.
This problem happens in IE6 and IE7, have not tested earlier version of IE since I am not going to target them.
I thought perhaps IE was using style information from another page on the site using the same div id’s, but if you are on the main page (products) and select the products link which is linked of course right back to itself, the shifting problem occurs then as well without having visited another page to load any other css files.
I would also like to ask if anyone has a link to a specific site that might help me make my compliant pages work in IE?
Thanks in advance!
p.s. Regarding my HTML structure, I am aware that I have some redundant div’s, and although all my pages validate error free as strict doc types, if you see anything that is less than efficient, or just plain bad use of tags, etc. please let me know.
I have been doing this for less than 3 months so I am really new at it and would like to develop the best methods now before I get into any really bad habits.
