Problem with IE

www.nevadasheds.com/testing/index.php

This is a site I am rebuilding, got it pretty much worked out in a compliant browser to start with (FF 2.0.0.3), now trying to get it adjusted to work with IE6 and IE7.

The problem I am currently trying to work out is the product price table.

When the page first loads, the columns are lined up correctly, but when you go to another page on the site and come back, the columns are shifted to the left.

Then hit the refresh button and the columns go back to their proper position.

This problem happens in IE6 and IE7, have not tested earlier version of IE since I am not going to target them.

I thought perhaps IE was using style information from another page on the site using the same div id’s, but if you are on the main page (products) and select the products link which is linked of course right back to itself, the shifting problem occurs then as well without having visited another page to load any other css files.

I would also like to ask if anyone has a link to a specific site that might help me make my compliant pages work in IE?

Thanks in advance!

p.s. Regarding my HTML structure, I am aware that I have some redundant div’s, and although all my pages validate error free as strict doc types, if you see anything that is less than efficient, or just plain bad use of tags, etc. please let me know.
I have been doing this for less than 3 months so I am really new at it and would like to develop the best methods now before I get into any really bad habits.

@KDLAMay 25.2007 — Huh -- I'm not experiencing that problem (IE6).

If you clear your cache, does the problem still happen?

@HazardTWauthorMay 25.2007 — If I go to another page from the main products page, clear the cache, then click on the link for the products page it lines up fine.

If I go to another page from the main products page, do not clear the cache, and click the link for products, the columns shift to the left.

Same exact result in IE6 & IE7 on WinXP Home SP2.

The shift left is only 1 character in distance, the 'i' in 'Width' should line up between the '4' and the 'f', when the left shift happens the 'i' is lined up between the 'f' and the 't'.

@FangMay 26.2007 — I would be more concerned about the FAQ and Info pages

@SiervoMay 26.2007 — Well I don't seem to be getting this problem in IE7... weird.

@HazardTWauthorMay 26.2007 — Well I won't worry about it, thought maybe it was a common problem with IE that I should know how to deal with.

Fang: "...more concerned about the FAQ and Info pages", I thank you for your time looking at this and would love to know what is concerning you ?

@FangMay 26.2007 — Overlapping text in IE and Fx.

Change or remove the line-height
p {
line-height:1;
}

@HazardTWauthorMay 27.2007 — I was unable to duplicate overlapping text...

@KDLAMay 27.2007 — It exists when viewing with Firefox.

@HazardTWauthorMay 27.2007 — grrrr...

I found out why I couldn't duplicate the problem, I kept trying it on my local server where I already have that problem fixed, no wonder I couldn't duplicate it.

Thanks and sorry for the confusion.

BTW FF is my main browser, I love IE so much I don't want to wear it out so I save it for special occasions. ?

Uploaded the latest styles, text should be good now..... still working on the order page.
