how do i put weather on my site?

Hi all , Building a site for our family’s surf shop and looking for a way to display the days weather for the southport seaway..

CHECK THIS SURF REPORT

Here is the australian bureau of meterology LINKY .. ive seen other sites where they have drawn the info from the BOM site.. I would like to do the same so customers can check the weather report before heading out for a surf..

Any ideas?

@omc1jzauthorAug 07.2003 — Cheers Mate .. I figured out how to link the synoptic and ir charts but just wondering how they get the info in the grey box to come up?? The box is grey and has the fields :

Wind: SSW/S 6-9kn

Swell: 0.75m ESE

Tides: 4:29pm high, 9:16am low

Water Temp: 19°C

Air Temp: 12°C, 22°C

Ive looked in the source code of the other site but can not find anything (i can see anyway) that would be sourcing this info from the BOM. How is it done? Cheers...Maty...

Its worth a joker surf shirt !!

@Compguy_PeteAug 07.2003 — It's my thought that with the subcription to the service it's either sent from the BOM that way and they change the image that gets sent or... It's a server side change with some code magic.

Either way I would fill out that form and get the pricing info.

I know here in the states there are a number of ways to get weather data on your site. Not just one source, so I would guess there might be another way to get this service other than BOM.

@omc1jzauthorAug 07.2003 — Prices were high and i did not really see anything that was directly what i needed.. But i did find this LINK It says its for use with active desktop.. could it work for a webpage..? here is the wunderground site for the gold coast weather stats Gold Coast Weather ....

I think this is more promising.. can u help to get it sorted into a webpage? my knowledge of vb script is nil....

Thanks for your time!!

@Compguy_PeteAug 08.2003 — I can now do one better than that... hehehehe Right ON!

I have used this in the past and it's SUPER easy to setup. Thanks to the weather underground link I relalisized that these sites can service outside the US.

HamWeather Then put in YBBN and you'll see your area.

HamWeather Supports Perl, ASP, PHP, As a note I don't think the ASP version is done. The program files are free with a link to HamWeather, or you can pay $75.00 to own it. Not bad either way.
