Anyone can suggest some php captcha scripts?

Hello

@aj_nscMay 17.2007 — I'm not a fan of captcha's.....they seem like they're asking too much of the user (I know, I am lazy). This is what I did and my spamming has stopped one hundred percent (except for the spammers that are actually people, not robots, in which case even a captcha can't stop them)

I had a standard sign guestbook form for a year or so that was getting trashed with thousands of spam entries a day....so I took my comments field, and renamed it to commnets. The reason I did this is so I could put an additional, hidden field, named comments, and left it blank. Then, every time the form was submitted, I checked for the value of the hidden field named comments and if it didn't return null, then I automatically junked the entry. Like I said, stopped 100% of my spam.

All it takes is a little thought on your part and you don't have to add an unsightly captcha to your form.

@boxxertrumpsMay 17.2007 — Captcha isn't good for people with screen readers or bad eyesight.

You should provide an audio clip to play with the css pusedo before/after class.

@JayMMay 18.2007 — Bokeh has a great captcha script which is free. Do a member search for "bokeh" and you should find his website in his signature.

Yes, you are right with spammers that are not robots, Captchas can`t stop them. Your ideea with comment field is very good, but captchas is so "trandy" in webdevelopers industry...

@iorgus30authorMay 20.2007 — I also found on www.hotscripts.com Captcha Creator ( http://www.captchacreator.com ), which seems easy to install and works nice. I will check a few other before I decide which one I will use on the long term:rolleyes:

Which is why the CAPTCHA project also includes a spoken portion for those people.

I would also capture the IP address of the poster if available, eg, coming from the same IP address more than once, hmmm smells like spam, cooks like spam, it prolly is spam!

Success!
